Amidst these troubled times our industry is currently facing we wanted to share some positive news and updates, with enhancements to the private island resort of Six Senses Laamu over the coming summer months.
In an effort to continually evolve our guest experience, we will be adding private pools to both our Lagoon Beach Villas and Ocean beach Villas that currently do not have any pools therefor increasing the total amount of Beach Villas with pool to 15.
The modification of existing villas will also see the available inventory of our Beach Family Villa with Pool increase by four. These family beach villas are ideal for families with children which can be complemented by unique experience programs like ‘Grow With Six Senses’ and the resorts ‘Junior Marine Biology Program’.
Works on the pool villas will begin in phases. This would therefore ensure no disturbance to guests and will commence as of June 2020 until mid-October 2020.
Six Senses Laamu will also be enhancing its sustainability and conservation efforts that we are known the world over by providing a platform for guests, both adults and children, to learn, discover and interact with MUI (Maldives Underwater Initiative), the largest team of Resident Marine Biologists in the Maldives and in collaboration with three NGO partners about the diverse marine life unique to the Laamu Atoll as well as our conservation efforts.
The Marine Discovery center will be equipped with a marine laboratory and workshop, an educational area for children with video presentation and virtual reality rooms, as well as an outdoor viewing deck for stargazing after the sun has set on Laamu.
Works for the Marine Discovery Center will commence in May 2020 and scheduled to welcome it first visitors by the festive season.
